Analysis of Dublin Bay over eight decades confirms sea-level rise faster than expected

“If you look at too short a timeframe, the fluctuations over decades could impact estimates of trends. But this research has taken a longer view and what we are most confident about from looking at the stretch of years is the overall rise,” Dr McCarthy explained.Sea level rise in Dublin should be the easiest case to describe as it is the longest record of sea level in the Republic, he said.

Confirmation of high rates of sea level rise, which are already built into Dublin climate action plan, does not yet unearth the cause of this rapid rise, he underlined. A partial reason may be reclaimed land in Dublin port and resulting compaction of sediments, he added.

More bullshat.

So does Dublin have its own sea and ocean or is the level up for all seas. Maybe you should read up about Archimedes and his discoveries to learn how it works

Hammer home the tax justification

Zero hard science to show that carbon is causing this. You’re beating the agenda drum like always. The numbers of people realising you have no integrity is on the rise 💪

“Fluctuations are identified with sea levels rising from 1982 to 1988, before falling from 1989 to 1996, and once again rising from 1997 to 2016 at a rate of 7 millimetres per year. ' Hmm... not totally convincing

Which study

Musk, Obama & Gates all have vast luxury houses on the waterfront in Miami, Gates very recently acquired his. They're not worried.

Ohh No. Let’s get the life perseveres on quick and get a booster when we’re at it

Absolute dribble!! No hard science to support

Sea level rising doesn't just mean that people will have to live a little further inland, it also and much more crucially means, that the amount of available drinking water on Earth is diminishing. 'water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink'......

You've been trying to get this to stick for over 70years now. All the while celebrities & politicians buying up beachfront properties & islands..🧐 There's also not enough Ice left from the last event to rise anymore, the earth is going to cool & freeze again before another rise!

Yet coastal properties adjacent to Dublin, Cork & Limerick command astronomical prices.... how will Government afford the equavalent compensation claims, when the inevitable flooding occurs? IPCCReport

Yes nothing a good old 'tax the bejaysus out of the working and middle class' won't fix..

Bull Island & Sandymount Strand have been growing for 200 years!

What climate change!? Go annoy India and China the biggest polluters

More tax that will fix it

When Houses in Sandycove are going for half nothing, let me know.

3mm per year ...

I’m higher than predicted

My arse in the 80s they told us we'd all be living in the hills now because of sea level rise , GO AWAY

That should help matters on Dollymount Strand. Would wade for 'miles' to reach knee high water, back in the day.
