Here are some key takeaways from the latest report from UN scientists on how to limit climate warming.

The dangers of climate change have been well reported for years. But what's had less attention is how the world could effectively tackle the issue, that they believe could help people avoid the worst impacts of rising temperatures.

Keeping the world under 1.5C requires emissions to peak by 2025, the researchers say, and shrink by 43% by the end of this decade. So for the temperature of the planet , the IPCC believes that coal should finally be retired for good. But as the climate crisis has escalated and cutting carbon emissions has proven difficult, researchers have been forced to look again at the role of technology in both limiting and reducing CO2 in the atmosphere. An air capture planet in Iceland pulls in CO2 from the atmosphere which is then turned into rock has now gone fully mainstream with the endorsement of the IPCC in this latest report.

"I would have hoped that the report would have put forward the most reliable kind of safe pathways towards 1.5C without an overshoot and reliance on technologies that we just don't know if they will work."One of the big differences with this report from previous releases is that social science features heavily.

That's a huge goal but the report is quite specific and detailed - and yes it will take incentives and nudges from governments.Tackling climate change has often been delayed due to the perceived high-cost implications. Now the IPCC are weighing in with some new guidance on the costs.Right now, the IPCC says there is far too much money still flowing towards fossil fuels and not to clean energy climate solutions.

How much do I have to pay?

Stopping Russia firing missiles all over Ukraine especially at nuclear reactors should be first in the list before anything else!

If there was that bothered about saving the planet they stop cutting down trees and deforestation one of the main causes stop making the world a concrete Jungle that's the main problem for money and power control. Billionaire's don't care about this planet just money

UN politicians

Chemtrails and pesticides chemicals into food items ,, fluoride into tap water and toothpaste, just a few to start with and these people are talking about climate change and saving the world while forcing people to have vaccines made with liquid metals and aluminiums ,Rothschild

Lol. Did they, it is too late by far. The Planet will exist still , of course. But living on it. Hardly Poss anymore. Most species are already Gone or going anyway. Except humanity. Eat em Rich.

The primary source is NOT fossil fuels but rather its breathing. A human exhales 2.5 pounds of CO2 daily. This will increase as populations increase no matter. To save the planet deserts must be irrigated and plants to absorb the CO2 cultivated. Massive mind change is necessary.

IPCC scientists report lacks ways to remove CO2 from the air. All additional CO2 for the last 200 years can be accounted for as people, their pets, wild animals and farm animals breathing which has increased 8X - 1 billion to 8 billion people and a proportionate number of animals

The most critical action is to establish laws that make the health of ecosystem equivalent to human rights. Unless the demand to consume more is addressed, ecosystems will change in predicted and unpredicted ways.

Didn’t read but I’m assuming the 1 answer includes a bloated bureaucracy funded by Americans.

A new IPCC report says the window to meet UN climate targets is vanishingEmissions must peak by 2025 to keep global warming well below the 2°C limit set by the Paris agreement This continues to be an escalating emergency that demands a response from the whole of society, especially those in power with the most access to resources and ability to drive change. It's been hardly cheering for the last fifty years. I'm not saying it's false, because it's real as life itself. But stop spreading fear, doesn't help and forces policies that weaken working classes and give more power to the higher and ruling ones. Ummm with petrodollar how can there be honest effort to avert climate change

Climate change: IPCC scientists say it's 'now or never' to limit warmingStaving off the worst impacts of climate change is possible, say scientists, but immediate action is needed. I’m for now instead of never :-) NEVER. Since the beginning of the industrial revolution Earth's population has increased from 1 billion to 8 billion. Every person exhales 2.5 pounds of CO2 daily accounting for all the increase. Add increases in dogs, cats and food animals, we're fighting a carbon emissions ghost.
