The cabin is well-executed with front seats being among the most comfortable in the business. The materials follow the green theme with many of them being derived from recycled pop bottles, recycled polyester and other recycled plastics. It does not sound very appetizing, but the execution is first rate, which gives it a sense of richness in spite of being vegan-friendly — the C40 is the first Volvo with a leather-free interior.
Second, the new Android-based infotainment system is a mixed blessing. The Google apps, maps, and a superb Harmon Kardon sound system are the plusses. To get a more immersive experience, Volvo recommends the driver log into their Google account, which opens up more options including the Google Play app store.The negative is the fact the system just is not as intuitive as the outgoing system.
