Petrol hit R21 per litre recently, with fears of a much steeper hike in months to come. With fuel prices surging and another increase expected next month, government has suggested that people who can work from home do so to save. for the first time earlier this month after a R1.
“The cost of public and private transport has increased and will continue to increase. We are feeling it in our pockets that travelling to work is becoming quite an expense. “We believe people will have to juggle, because expendable income will be reduced and will have an affect on economic growth, as we won't be buying the things we would normally have because the money would be spent on fuel.”
Deputy director general ekhuluma amasimba... what a clueless bafoon🙄

This is what Mbeki was referring to,MYANC old age pensioners and crooks have no brains! What kind of statement is this?
These people are not really thinking shame
Tell that to our bosses who insist on having us back at office!
THEY WANT PEOPLE TO WORK FROM HOME UNTIL LOAD SHEDDING STARTS
Mbeki said it they need to improve their thinking capacity
Crazy government
Those who can must continue working from home. Say half of the week, that would be 2-3 days a week atleast
Useless government
It is only the poorest of the poorest who suffer the most, how can they clean the employer workplace from home, they must take taxi to go and clean, petrol attendend,he must pay transport fee to get 2 work. The rich can afford 2 work from home, the have internet.
Amazing the mampara attitude, government should address the criminal high levy's on fuel and let the market prices dictate demand and supply.
We need to ask ourselves, What did we do to deserve such useless government.
We need to ask why isn't cheap fuel is sourced? Why are we buying in dollars?
Or... We can scrap the fuel levies along with the officials in redundant govt departments i.e. The entire govt. From there we can build what was envisioned in 1994.
And what happens to the staff employed in the petrol industry ? Petrol pump attendants and staff working at the petrol refineries will be retrenched due to lower the lower demand for fuel. Government must get their act together, and regulate the selling price properly !!
Poor government Can I work from home as forklift driveror as cashier This government 😡
This gov is clueless in everything nje
