HOUSTON, Texas -- The University of Houston is establishing a new institute focused on clean energy, and it's all thanks to a donation from Shell.
The institute is focused on the production and use of reliable, affordable and cleaner energy for all. The Energy Transition Institute will focus on three core areas: hydrogen, carbon management and circular plastics. The institute also aims to benefit communities impacted by climate change and environmental impact through energy development.
Shell scientists will work side-by-side with faculty and students on each of the core areas the institute will be focusing on, the university said.
How about using that money to build a native houstonian electrical car?
She’ll is also one of the largest holders of renewable resources in the country. They aren’t exactly hurting.
Despite? Some say they are hedging their bets. Others are saying they are just putting up window dressing. Nothing in the announcement sounds like exclusively green tech. Over time it’ll probably become all carbon accounting related.
