Suzuki was asked what may happen if government leaders don’t urgently address climate change

Environmentalist David Suzuki has apologized for comments he made about pipelines being blown up if government leaders don’t urgently address climate change.

In a statement on Thursday, Suzuki says his comments to CHEK News on Saturday were a result of his frustration at government inaction as climate change gets worse. Suzuki was asked in a media interview what he thinks may happen if government leaders don’t urgently address climate change after a protest was held in Victoria on Saturday.Suzuki says a way must be found to stop the environmental damage that is being done to the planet and “we must do so in a non-violent manner.”“The remarks I made were poorly chosen and I should not have said them,” it says.

On Saturday, the statement says he told the TV station in response to the question: “We’re in deep, deep doo doo. And the leading experts have been telling us for over 40 years. This is what we’ve come to. The next stage after this, there are going to be pipelines blown up if our leaders don’t pay attention to what’s going on.”

Now days apologize is so cheap that easy to make and easy to move on.

I have a friend that committed a crime and told the judge he was sorry. He was sentenced to 3 months and it was far less serious than ecoterrorism. If Mr. Suzuki is not above the law, perhaps he should present his apology before a judge as well, just to appease all concerned.

Good stuff here. A reasonable person who realizes their worse were used carelessly and could be misinterpreted by someone inclined to make a poor decision or do harm. He corrects his position. I like and respect this.

Despite his high profile, Mr. Suzuki can be an ass when you meet him. If he were true to his principles he would live in the city and not a luxury log cabin in the woods where he himself is disturbing nature.

Apology not accepted.

He should be blowing up Saudi pipelines, or he’s part of the problem. Leave canadian pipelines alone! GlassHouses

Sorry only because he got called out! Suzuki pipelines
