He says the NSW government would be willing to do whatever it can in terms of quarantine arrangements to assist the Prime Minister make it to Glasgow next month for the COP26 climate conference.
"We've [NSW has] obviously got a very ambitious medium term target... my message to those in Canberra is at the very least they should take the average target of all the states and territories and set that as their interim plan... I would imagine at a minimum it's 35 per cent ... I think we should all be aiming to do better when it comes to protecting their planet," Mr Kean said.
Asked about the fact that the NSW government could assist Mr Morrison in his ability to travel by reducing the current 14-day quarantine requirement upon the PM's return to seven days, as is being proposed across the NSW community from mid-November, Mr Kean said:"I think this is such an important issue, I think the community would expect governments would work together to ensure we represent our interests on the world stage so I'm confident we can work through those issues.
Mr Kean, one of Ms Berejiklian's closest supporters, who was with her in the hours before she fell on her sword over an ICAC investigation ten days ago, said of that time:"I'm not going to go into the ins and outs but it's fair to say Gladys Berejiklian made a decision to put the state first, to put the people of NSW first, to put the government first and the party first.
Asked if the elevation of Dominic Perrottet might see a more"let it rip" approach than favoured by Ms Berejiklian when it came to dealing with the coronavirus, Mr Kean denied this was the case.
