Australia will come under unprecedented pressure to join global efforts to stop global warming at US President JoeBiden’s Climate Leaders Summit, writes MicheleONeilAU | OPINION Climate 2050

: “In far-flung corners of the federal government, staffers have been busy calculating how quickly the United States could embrace electric cars or phase out the last of the nation’s coal-fired power plants. They are estimating how fast the country can construct new battery-charging stations and wind turbines, as well as how farmers can store more carbon in the soil – and how much Congress might allocate to fund such efforts.

The US is just the latest in a wave of countries to increase their climate pledges, with Japan, China, South Korea, Europe and Britain all committing to net zero emissions in recent months. Fourteen of Australia’s largest trading partners have now committed to net zero emissions.

It is also clear that we are now alone among our key allies in refusing to take decisive action. Biden gave a not-so-subtle hint of his agenda on his first day in office. His“Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad” and promised to “centre the climate crisis in US foreign policy and national security considerations”.

JoeBiden MicheleONeilAU The position Australia or US takes will not change anything as the change has happened. Government don’t have money to invest in anything. The investors have made that demand since 2018 and industry has followed. Simple as that.

JoeBiden MicheleONeilAU Our emissions are a tiny fraction of a % yet we must decimate our economy and give money away to 'developing' nations that have to do absolutely nothing.

JoeBiden MicheleONeilAU ScottMorrisonMP will just say yep we will do that and then deny he said it and continue being a climate change denialist! ScottyDoesNothing scottytheliar ScottyMustGo

JoeBiden MicheleONeilAU According to the Paris Agreement, China & India can continue polluting the planet at record rates well past 2035 but little Australia with a 5th of Asias carbon footprint must stop now.

JoeBiden MicheleONeilAU Morrison is noted for being a climate denier

Early settler weather journals set to shed light on our changing climateWeather observations recorded by Australia's early settlers in Perth, decades before official record keeping began, are expected to help experts 'piece the puzzle' together in one of the world’s climate change hotspots. Now..none of that Changing ? What does that even mean..... Gosh when settlers got here they found the place- HOT AND DRY! Climate change was already wreaking its devastation!

And any climate deal with them is a waste of time because they won’t honour it..🤔 Bc... The US is shit scared of China I wonder when Biden last went to China.
