Extreme weather leaves 45 million in Southern Africa facing severe food shortage

In Mozambique's Cabo Delgado province, as in other parts of Southern Africa, extreme weather threatens to disrupt the supply and price of produce for millions who already struggle with extreme poverty and economic inequality.Eight months after the cyclone, Oscar Eugenio is still on the precarious edge of disaster. “Some days we have food,” he says. “And some days we do not.”

More than 11 million people are already suffering emergency levels of food shortages in nine Southern African countries, according to data from United Nations food agencies. Many regions of those countries are enduring their worst drought in 35 years, the organizations say. “This year’s drought is unprecedented, causing food shortages on a scale we have never seen here before,” said a statement by Michael Charles, head of the International Red Cross Federation in Southern Africa.

In Mozambique, one of the countries at greatest risk from climate change, nearly two million people will need food assistance over the next several months, the government says.

Is it 'extreme weather'?

Oh really where did all the aid Money Go?

That's a shame. I guess Rhodesia (Zimbabwe), Zambia, South Africa, etc. shouldn't have kicked out all the wypipo

Nothing to do with white farmers being killed I guess...

Really? It has nothing to do with the slaughter of farmers and the confiscation of their land?

What, like a lot of countries Canada is supposed to give millions to the corrupt governments who let the dire straits of its people happen in the first place. Sure, open up the floodgates, and rip CDNs for even more useless immigrants to milk the system in Canada.

lol this happens every few years and I quite frankly find it funny. It aint the weather folks. It would be nice if they could get their shit together and feed themselves. But being dumb and violent is more their nature.
