In a post, Center Point energy says, "We greatly appreciate our crews, mutual assistance partners, vegetation professionals and everyone behind the scenes who has been working tirelessly to bring back power to our affected customers. a deadline for getting power restored in the Houston area. Power was knocked out in Houston and along the Texas Gulf Coast by Hurricane Beryl last Monday. A week later, about 200,000 customers are still waiting to get their air conditioners and lights back on.
As of Monday afternoon, about 220,000 Texans are without power and almost 200,000 of them are CenterPoint Energy customers. The situation pushed the Public Utility Commission of Texas to announce on Monday that it will investigate CenterPoint’s response to Hurricane Beryl.
