CPS adds 250 megawatts of nuclear power in deal with Constellation

CPS Energy has increased its ownership in a Texas nuclear power plant and added 250 megawatts of generating capacity after agreeing to drop litigation tied to the deal. Under the agreement that settled the dispute, CPS increased its stake in the plant by 2% to 42%, giving it another 52 megawatts of the plant’s capacity. It also agreed to purchase 200 more. CPS declined to disclose the cost of the additional capacity.

Constellation and NRG filed a counter with the commission asking to dismiss the claims.
