Re: “Striking the balance between accuracy and ambition for climate change communications,” . The author of this piece, Megan Buttle, is not an independent voice looking for fairness in the application of an essential new Canadian law—C-59—intended to eliminate “greenwashing,” the use of misleading advertising to protect the financial interests of people who are profiting from activities that are accelerating climate change, and its catastrophic impact on human life and the environment.

The industry—with the aid of companies like Earnscliffe—has been disseminating deliberately misleading information to support their activities, which are not in the best interests of the public. And as for industry describing its goals and ambitions, we've heard enough hollow promises to last a lifetime. We must support our government's actions on this new law.
