Truly a sad state of affairs.
If we continue to leave it to the latter, we should ensure that investors can make fair and legitimate returns on investment. Most would agree that there is no place for gouging or exorbitant returns. The issue seems less that people see cities as enemies of nature and more that people think nature is something that can be micromanaged like urban planning. It’s great that Toronto isn’t the toxic toilet bowl it once was and its beaches can be swam in for most of the summer, but let’s not get carried away thinking of the city as the Galapagos of the North.
