The Kia EV6 might have always looked like it’s from the future, but the Korean car maker has underlined its space-age look with a modest refresh for 2024.spyshots, the most obvious changes are to the front of the new electric crossover. Kia has given the new EV6 what it calls ‘Star Map’ lighting technology to create the signature look, which is carried on at the back lights, too, which is claimed to give the rear end a greater sense of width.
As we also saw from the spyshots the front bumper has also undergone a redesign, featuring what the company calls a ‘wing-shaped’ design. Note also the newly tweaked 19- and 20-inch alloy wheel designs. The 2024 EV6 now boasts a larger 84kWh battery, a modest upgrade from the previous 77.4kWh capacity. Kia claims that its revised battery delivers a 306-mile driving range in the two-wheel drive model. That’s an increase of just over 10 miles compared to its predecessor.
The new battery offers faster charging times, too. It can be recharged from 10-80% in fewer than 18 minutes using a 350kWh ultra-rapid charger, a step up from the previous model.There have been tweaks to the Kia EV6’s interior too: it comes with new ambient lighting and a reshaped steering wheel, plus the company has fitted a finger-recognition system that allows users to load their own driver profile simply by placing their finger on a sensor.
No prices have yet been announced by Kia UK. We’d expect the cost to rise incrementally with the new model year; the outgoing 2023 Kia EV6 currently starts at £45,275, stretching to £57,175 for a top-spec model.
