Bedrock Energy's geothermal project could aid ERCOT's stressed grid

AUSTIN — The parking lot Joselyn Lai was standing on gave little hint of the innovation under the asphalt beneath her feet: a system of 11 pipes quietly air conditioning the 30,000-square-foot office building behind her. The CEO of Houston-based startup Bedrock Energy was celebrating the building’s second day using the company’s geothermal heat pumps as its cooling system.
