“We were really intent on starting that project in eastern Kings in 2019. We're four full years out from that. The setbacks are going to become more and more important."IRAC dismissed the appeal in April. The commission's ruling also found the P.E.I. government had the ability to permit the wind farm project, despite the objections from the municipality.“So, these are basically the regulations to match that clause that IRAC gave us in the ruling," Myers said in an interview.

Myers said the province’s Renewable Energy Act does state the province can permit renewable energy projects but said regulations were needed to “make it crystal clear.” "We're looking to grow our renewables to as close to 100 per cent as we can get them. And we've added little to none since 2019 besides our rooftop solar and our Slemon Park project, which was damaged in ,” Myers said.
