Abu Dhabi-based Masdar is discussing expansion into Kenya as it leads a wave of UAE investment into Africa’s energy and mining sectors.Gulf cash is flowing into Africa, buying assets and influence. But at what price? The UAE’s growing financial footprint in Africa makes it an increasingly important partner for its economic – and political – ambitions.The world’s worst war – around 150,000 dead, nine million displaced and 25 million needing emergency aid – this is Sudan, not Gaza nor Ukraine. While the international community largely ignores Sudan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia are trying to impose their power on the country’s warring factions.
