San Antonio's West Side to get new CPS Energy gas pipelines with $2.45 million federal Department of Transporation Grant

CPS Energy will soon begin work to replace more than 5 miles of aging gas pipelines on San Antonio’s West Side after receiving a $2.45 million federal grant. “We are committed to upgrading infrastructure for our community, which will help us continue to serve them with the reliable and safe service they expect from CPS Energy,” President and CEO Rudy Garza said Friday.

Energy customer satisfaction rising from depths hit through pandemic and Winter Storm Uri “This grant will provide welcome assistance to help ensure safety and guard our environment by upgrading CPS Energy’s natural gas pipeline infrastructure,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who’s also a CPS trustee. “Keeping the utility’s infrastructure in good condition is a crucial part of protecting our community and maintaining an efficient distribution system.
