Australia's National Party is using nuclear energy as a distraction from their lack of serious emissions reduction policies. While they previously opposed the net zero by 2050 target, they now find the 2030 emissions reduction target of 26-28% absurd. The party is now promoting nuclear energy as a solution, claiming it is cheap and can be implemented within six to ten years.
However, voters are skeptical and want real policy action instead of empty promises
