2024 Ram REV Electric Truck Unveiled In Production Form, Lacks Concept's Drama | Carscoops

Last month at CES in Las Vegas, Ram presented a dramatic concept for their Ford F-150 Lightning rival and now they have returned with the production version of the 2024 1500 REV electric pickup, which bears more than a passing resemblance to its gas-powered counterpart. Additionally, Ram has announced that it will start accepting reservations for the electric truck, which will be showcased during tonight’s Super Bowl commercial.

While the 1500 Revolution concept hinted at a standalone model with a distinctive design, similar to GM’s 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, reality is far less exciting as the production model closely resembles a variant of the regular ICE-powered Ram 1500, not unlike what Ford did with the F-150 Lightning.

Very little else was revealed about the production truck, but looking at the pictures, we see that it has a crew cab-body with a short bed that doesn’t seem long enough to fit the concept model’s third-row with jump seats, though, it is possible that Ram may offer additional configurations down the road.

“The Ram brand has redefined the pickup truck segment before and will once again with the all-new Ram 1500 REV,” said Ram boss Mike Koval Jr. “We believe in bringing the right range of powertrain solutions to our customers, and the Ram 1500 REV will be the first in a lineup of electrified solutions that will add to our current award-winning truck lineup.

So they change the nose and taillights and swap ICE for electric parts. What I never understand is why a company spends so much on an extravagant concept and lavish reveal, stating it is close to the production version, and we get this thing based on a 15-yr old design? Lazy.

I definitely like it better than the concept!

2024 Ram 1500 REV Revealed in Production FormThe electric version of Ram's 1500 pickup is being shown during the Super Bowl, and you can pre-order the truck before production starts next year. High level bait and switch. Wasn’t expecting all the show car stuff of course but come on. It looks way less stupid than the concept, but it's still not a looker. Wow, I thought Ram was going to be way more aggressive with the Rev's styling. They seem to have taken the same path as Ford's F-150 Lightning vs the Chevrolet Silverado EV. I'm sort of disappointed.
