One of the three tunnel boring machines working on Australia's biggest renewable energy project, Snowy 2.0, is stuck.

A hole appeared in the ground above a Snowy 2.0 tunnel boring machine in Kosciuszko National ParkThe boring machine weighs 2,400 tonnes and measures 143 metres

TBM Florence was commissioned in March last year to drill about 15 kilometres through the mountains. At the time, Snowy Hydro said it could travel 30 to 50 metres a day. "In all honesty, when I finally found this cave-in, I was shocked. I just couldn't understand how they could have travelled so little a distance," Mr Anderson said.

Is it true ABC employees are receiving a 10.5 % pay rise this year ? Is it a reward for the lack of impartiality in reporting political matters by the ABC ?

'ground to a halt' and 'down to the wire' are the signatures of TheirABC's first class journalists.

Snowy 2.0 is a massive waste of money, courtesy of previous COALition government, spending up big with their mates in the interests of 'doing something for clinate change'! Look at UK experiences with 'Pumped Hydro' schemes - they can only operate at 10% availability!

Must've applied woke engineering... Don't let facts get in the way.

Sounds boring

The cost and predicament are a result of whining groups claiming environmental damage. Poppycock! Cut and cover pipes would have been more cost effective. Better still exposed pipes. I believe in the intrinsic authenticity of engineering marvels!

„Concerned about the environment“…..it’s literally a renewable energy project to preserve the environment. It’s a super complex engineering project, not everything will go to plan. It’s likely a good thing this happened so close to the entrance for recovery purposes.

How deep is it? Could they just dig out all the soft ground above it and keep going?

Boring story

More delays more pays, well done boys.
