Nurses have a notable history of advocating for human health and we have become increasingly concerned about the looming climate crisis. Deaths from extreme heat events, worsening of asthma and other lung conditions from wildfires, and the expansion of zoonotic diseases such as Lyme disease are realities of our time.
Having lived in Vancouver for all my life, I have seen changes that have resulted in the problems today. It is time for people to think and communicate their ideas. We need to listen to each other. The civic elections are important. Vote wisely.
