Targeted supports for those on fuel allowance will mean an additional three weeks payment worth €99 in one lump sum.The three coalition leaders met with the Minister for Public Expenditure Michael McGrath and Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe on Monday evening to finalise measures.
“We believe we need to look at a more medium-term approach to how we should respond to these unique set of circumstances whilst protecting the essence of our economy, the essential pillars of our economy, which have been growing strong as we emerge from the pandemic,” he said. Martin said two billion euro has been allocated to a range of measures, including reducing transport costs, medicine costs and waiving school-leaving certificate fees.
