The massive question looming over the Democratic Party is whether the progressive left wing will “get too frustrated” with a centrist Joe Biden administration. Joe Biden was officially declared the winner of the 2020 election on Monday as the Electoral College met and confirmed his 306 college votes; 36 more than the 270 required to be elected President.
The Australian’s Editor-at-Large Paul Kelly said the signals coming out of the Biden camp – especially through his cabinet appointees – show he is keen on running as a centrist. “That’s good, the question is whether the Democratic Party will allow him to do that or whether the progressive wing will get too frustrated,” he said.
