Like Greta Thunberg, the 17-year-old environmental activist who has seemingly become the voice rallying the world to act on climate change, a 6-year-old boy is now championing the cause of animals affected by the Australian bushfires.

Colley, who lived for a few months as a toddler in Australia, was moved by what was happening to the animals there, an article written by Amanda Yeo for Mashable Southeast Asia said.

Caitlin, the 6-year-old’s mother, told CNN her son was “upset” when he learned about the bushfires in Australia and how it was affecting the wildlife. Because of this, the young boy felt that he had to do something to help and came up with an idea to raise money – by making clay koalas. At first, the family gave the clay koalas as gifts to those who would donate $50 to the Australian group Wildlife Rescue South Coast, but news spread faster than the Australian bushfires themselves about the existence of the clay koalas that the project quickly surpassed its initial goal of raising $ 1,000.

Because of this, the family launched a GoFundMe, again with just an initial goal of raising $5,000, which it again surpassing by raking in a whopping $ 240,000 in just a week.
