The NSW Environment Department has been convicted for a second time of polluting a waterway that runs through Perisher Ski resort.
The Department, which operates a sewage plant that services the resort, has been found guilty of releasing aluminium into Perisher Creek at levels known to cause toxicity to a range of aquatic organisms. Last year the Land and Environment Court also convicted the department of releasing elevated levels of nitrogen and ammonia into the creek.A man has been charged over the death of a woman who was run down last week at a service station in Sydney's west.She was knocked down and hit her head at the North Parramatta service station last Wednesday.Bank staff charged with $2.4m fraud
Police have charged two bank employees with defrauding $2.4 million from a customer in the Sydney CBD. It is alleged the 29-year-old man and 31-year-old woman made numerous fraudulent transactions between December 2015 and January 2016, while employed at the bank.He was arrested at Sydney Airport on October 31, and remains before the courts, while the woman has been granted strict conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court in January.
