Department Of Mineral Resources,Dodgy Fuel,High-Risk Areas

The Department of Mineral Resources (DMRE) is increasing its efforts to eliminate fraudulent fuel, particularly in high-risk areas in Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal, and the North West provinces. The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mantashe, stated that the DMRE plans to expand fuel testing to more service stations to fully understand the challenges and extent of fuel quality issues in the sector.

The Department of Mineral Resources says it is bolstering efforts to root out dodgy fuel, especially in high-risk areas identified in Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and the North West.

When recently quizzed by the Democratic Alliance in Parliament about his department's efforts to clamp down on dodgy fuel, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Gwede Mantashe, said the DMRE intended to extend testing of fuel to more service stations to establish the"full extent and challenges confronting the sector on fuel quality". South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future.
